Thomas was born in a place with many, many other bunnies and guinea pigs, but not a lot of attention or love. He spent months wishing for more food, a cleaner cage, and more space... but he never even dreamed of the company and love of people. Since Thomas came to rescue he has been enjoying a nice big pen all to himself, yummy green salads every morning, unlimited healthy pellets, and lots of fun toys. He has littertrained himself, and makes the most of any opportunity for fun. All he needs now is a very special person to help him learn all about people and how great they can be.  Right now, Tommy will sit for a few minutes and let you hold him and he allows petting too, he's just not quite sure what you are doing and thinks playing with his toys is much more fun and entertaining. Thomas is a Himalayan boy, only around a year old, and he'd love to grow up with a family willing to give him the time, love, and attention he needs to become the amazing bunny we know he will be.

Thomas is neutered, microchipped and ready to go to a wonderful new home! His diet consists primarily of timothy hay, with Oxbow and Mazuri rabbit pellets and fresh greens and veggies daily.

Because Thomas is such a large and active bunny, he needs a large cage or he may get bored and restless. He needs time outside his crate daily. We recommend a playpen, extra large dog crate (42 or 48 minimum) or homemade enclosure that will give him adequate space to play and hop around.

Rabbit FACTS:

Rabbits can live 10 years or more with proper care.  Where will you be in 10 years?  If you don't see a rabbit in your future, don't bring him home now (or consider adopting a senior bunny.)
They are considered by our rescue to be house pets, not outside pets, and they will not be adopted to live in hutches, garages, barns, or cellars (unfinished basements).  They need to be with their people daily!

Rabbits should see a bunny-savvy vet annually for checkups just like a dog or cat.

Rabbits need lots of time out of their cages to see the world, explore, run and play.

Diet consists of mostly greens and vegetables with high-quality pellets being more supplemental than a staple.  Quality timothy or orchard grass hay and fresh water should be available AT ALL TIMES!  This is very important!

Grooming a bunny is very simple.  Routine brushing and nail clipping, checking teeth and ears, and providing a tidy habitat in which to live will all help your bunny stay healthy and clean!

We have a special application for bunny adopters which can be downloaded here: http://www.starfishtothesea.org/info/file?file=s148m5394.doc
