This beautiful, happy ball of fluff is Blitz, a border collie/retriever mix who is a total doll baby. We should have re-named him TEDDY, because he's just a cuddly teddy bear who wants affection in his own quiet way, maybe with a hug and a smile on his face. About 45 lbs,he's not a very large dog and fits JUST RIGHT on the couch cushion next to you. When he looks up at you with his funny ears- one upright, the other floppy- and a grin on his face, it's impossible not to smile and feel your sorrows melt away! If this dog who has been through two shelters, two foster homes and who knows how many other places in his life can be so darned happy, who are we to complain about life??

Blitzy ADORES other dogs, is great with the cats (basically ignores them) and is very playful. He'll entertain himself by wrestling with another dog or tossing his toys into the air and catching them again. He'd really like a canine pal or two to play with in his new home as he still identifies better with dogs than people. He's just too affectionate and happy with company to spend all day by himself.

This smart boy has really picked up on house training! We don't have to crate him unless we're going to be away all day, which is rare. He does not destroy anything in the house and is just a very good boy.

"Bitzy Bear" is extremely sweet but is sensitive and can be shy with some people- not all, and he warms up over a short time. He isn't aggressive, just avoids folks if he is intimidated by them. He really loves my husband now, whereas the first few days he ran from him. He's a very easy "keeper"- very smart and ready to be someone's best friend!

Blitz received a clean bill of health including a negative heartworm test. He's UTD on his vaccinations and has been dewormed. He is currently on Heartgard and Frontline. He has been microchipped and if adopted in the state of PA is eligible for a lifetime license rather than needing yearly replacements!
