Ashley is a beautiful mix of dog, we think primarily doberman with greyhound or boxer as well. She has a beautiful slender neck, feminine features, and walks daintily when she's not tripping over puppy feet. She is a larger dog, standing around 25-26 inches at the shoulder, but is lean and will not be much trouble for any household to have.

Ashley came from the local kill shelter where she stood a chance at being euthanized. Of all the dogs at the pound, she was the only one who cowered in the back of her cage, looking to the dog next to her for reassurance that never came. Boy were we in for a surprise! It took a while, but she is now so happy and comfortable in her foster home that she can finally be a puppy! She can be shy with new people but is not aggressive. She lacks confidence in new situations but once she gets used to a person, they get to see the sweet, beautiful personality that she really has! Ash will need to continue with her socialization- getting used to new people and situations- and will thrive in obedience classes, outings to public dog-friendly places, and/or even competitive dog sports. She's a fast learner because she loooves food and treats. She knows "sit" and "down" already and walks fairly well on a leash. She's working on housebreaking and doing very well. She loves her crate because she gets yummy treats and Kong toys there! She has been tested with the cats at my house once when she was visiting and ignored them all. She loves other dogs and seems ok with children. Because of her size and sensitivity, at this time we recommend a home without very young kids but it doesn't mean it wouldn't work.

Ashley is already spayed, up to date on shots, dewormed, heartworm tested (negative) and has been placed on flea and heartworm preventative. She has gone from a scarily thin 45-50 lbs or so to 62 and is at a healthy lean build. If you open your home and heart to her, she is guaranteed to shower you with her devoted love!
