Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Nougat
Dear, sweet, and precious Nougat passed away quietly on 9/10/08 in his foster home. A wonderful boy full of life, a love for veggies and a knack for trouble, he will be sincerely missed.
GiGi
After living a magnificent life in her new home, loved by all who knew her, and showing all of us "mere humans" what it was to know pure love, "G" has joined our beloved friends at the Rainbow Bridge, June 4, 2008 at 3:33 pm.
Rest in peace, Gigi. Thank you so much for all you gave to us. Your family adored and loved you beyond compare, and your STAR friends and family miss you greatly.
Quincy
Quincy was ripped from our lives too soon in a tragic accident involving a foster cat. We love you, Quincy, and are so sorry that we could not save you. Please know how much you meant to us. We will see you again someday.
Wednesday
Wednesday, aka "Winnie", was taken from a bad home as a kitten in memory of her older sibling, Sunnie (See Sunnie's Page for her story.) She was being given away thanks to a "Free Kittens" sign at the end of Sunnie's driveway. She died while in foster care...
We will forever mourn the loss of this precious soul. Rest in peace, little Winnie... :(
Willie
When Willie's elderly owners passed away, he went to live with his groomer while a member of the Central Pennsylvania Animal Alliance looked for rescue for him. No one would step up and having a soft spot for seniors I agreed to take him. Little did we know that Willie had some aggression issues, resource guarding, probably from getting his way most of his life. He had been adopted from a Humane Society at around a year old and lived 12 years with his family. We think he was spoiled rotten and probably undisciplined. At one point, he was considered unadoptable and was scheduled to be euthanized. We couldn't go through with it and he started to come around with training once we let our guard down. He was with us for 6 weeks before being adopted. Five weeks later, Willie bloated and passed away. I can still remember the sound of his bark, and how he would play fetch for hours if you let him. For an older dog, he was lively and had such spirit. He may have been adopted out, but Willie will always have a huge part of our hearts. We miss you, little guy.
