STAR is a volunteer-run organization.  Though we try to be thorough and communicative, sometimes our workload exceeds our abilities.  If you call or write and do not get a response, please call again!  Your time is very precious to us and we are grateful for inquiries regarding help or adoption, even if we can't always get back to you right away.

Please note that STAR is not a physical shelter.  To preserve the privacy of our foster homes, we usually arrange visits in public places or at the time of the mandatory pre-adoption home visit.  The phone number listed belongs to the founder.  Please feel free to call with any offers to help, questions pertaining to our rescue, website, or if you plan to adopt or surrender a pet.  Thank you!
